Its purpose is to offer a forum for Ph.D. students to discuss their thesis and research work with people of the design automation and system design community. It represents a good opportunity for students to get exposure on the job market and to get valuable feedback on their work. It is also a great chance for industry representatives to have access to the latest research development as well as to tap into a large community of junior researchers. Topics of interest include all the topics within the scope DATE'05, with special emphasis on embedded systems designs and methodologies. Benefits: +++++++++ 1. A poster slot and visibility to a large audience at the Ph.D. forum during DATE'05. 2. A chance to distribute flyers describing your work during the forum. 3. Free dinner during the EDAA Ph.D. forum reception. 4. Students accepted for the forum may apply for an EDAA travel grant Application. Forms will be available on the Web. Applicants will have to clearly state whether or not other sources for covering registration and travel expenses are available to them. Eligibility: ++++++++++++ 1. Students who have completed their thesis not earlier than January 2004. 2. Students with at least one year of experience in a Ph.D. Program. Submission: +++++++++++ Submissions to the EDAA Ph.D. Forum should include: 1. A one-page research abstract (not including figures and references) not exceeding 800 words. This limit will be strictly enforced. 2. A University-approved thesis proposal or one published paper. NOTE: participating Students will be required to register to DATE'05 Important Dates: ++++++++++++++++ 1. Submission deadline: Nov 5th, 2004. 2. Notification: December 10th, 2004. 3. Forum posters presentation & reception: TBD Submission exclusively in PDF format will be handled via e-mail. An email containing the research abstract and the thesis proposal as an attachment as well as complete contact information, should be sent to Prof. Alberto Macii (email address below).
